Sign language exams

It’s surprising how many exams I’ve done and yet I still get nervous when the next one looms. My most recent exam was the practical part of my British Sign Language level two course. It reminded me of my French and German speaking exams because you choose a topic and then they give you three titles, of which you must choose one to sign a story about for 4 minutes. My topic was ‘Travel and Holidays’ and I chose ‘My first ever flight experience’. I think it went quite well, it’s now two exams down and one to go. If in 6 weeks time I post something about how great languages are and how I want to be an interpreter, you’ll know that it went well. If however, I blabber on about how unfair it is that a year’s worth of studying is assesed in 3 small exams, ranging from 4-15 minutes, I think it’ll be safe to assume that I’ve failed!!
